PLR Content
If you know a lot about the topic for your affiliate blog or you are passionate about writing, you can do the writing yourself. However, if you aren’t very confident about your writing skills you can still make this plan work for you without having to type much at all.
Outsourcing
The goal of this plan is to be able to make money without spending very much money, and so far, we’ve done a pretty good job of this. The only costs involved are hosting, buying a domain and using an autoresponder service. However, if you were to buy custom written content, your prices might go sky high.
Outsourcing content to ghostwriters is left out of this section because it can get very expensive ($15 and up per article). This is a good idea in the future once you have some profits to re-invest into your business. But at this point, you just want to get your blog posts up there and making money.
A cheaper way
There is a happy medium between doing the writing yourself and having someone else do it which is much less expensive than custom ghostwriting. You can purchase private label rights content (PLR). PLR content is sold for very cheaply, normally around $1 per article which makes it a terrific bargain.
The downside
Why so low? Well, there are a few distinct differences between PLR content and custom written content. You normally buy PLR site unseen. You’ll be aware of the topic, but you won’t get a chance to read the content before you buy it. Additionally, the content will be sold to several different parties. You won’t have sole claim on the content.
The upside
The upside to this is that you can re-write the content and label it as your own. This means you can take general articles on weight loss and edit them so they fit your new mom’s weight loss blog. You can edit the content to add in your keywords and add links to your affiliate product. In fact, you should edit the content significantly so that it appears unique to search engines and stands out from the rest of the same packages out there.
You can find PLR content from many different sources. You need to research the PLR seller very carefully to make sure that quality is good. PLR content can be hit or miss and even if you don’t spend a lot of money on the content, it’s a waste of time and money if you can’t use it.
Some good PLR sources
One of the best places to pick up good deals on PLR is in the Warrior Forum, an Internet marketing forum located at http://www.warriorforum.com. There is a special section in the forum devoted to special offers that members put forth. Many writers offer WSOs on popular topics, so it’s worth a look.
You can also find quality PLR content from the following sources:
Additionally, you can do a general Internet search for PLR content. Just be sure to read reviews and ask around on forums about the quality. Once you download the PLR content you’ll need to edit it to make it your own. Then it’s ready for you to put on your blog.
Posting Content to Your Blog
You’ll need to have a new post on your blog at least three times per week to get a nice steady stream of traffic and an avid readership. Fortunately, you don’t have to visit your blog three times a week in order to get the content up and ready to go. You can set the whole thing up so that it runs on autopilot and works even during your sleep.
Automate
With Wordpress, you can preload your blog posts to be published when you want them to be. To do this, click on Post and then Add New. Enter the title of your blog post in the title section and the body in the body section. Be sure to add tags and a category for your post. The tags should be keywords related to your posts and your blog. In order to keep the navigation of your blog simple, you should choose five to seven categories for your post.
Set the schedule
In the right hand column of the Wordpress post page, you can schedule a post for later. Set the date and time for your post to be published and then click schedule. By planning ahead and arranging several dozen posts, your affiliate blog can run on autopilot for months to come.
On the alert
That was just a brief overview on getting content up and running on your blog. If you need more tips on content creation, start reading popular blogs in your niche to get ideas, subscribe to Google Alerts for your keywords and try to keep a pulse on the market. You’ll be able to get a great deal of inspiration to keep your blog humming along nicely.
